Project summary

The GREEN4mación project has been selected in the Employ Green Program 2017 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment through the Biodiversity Foundation , whose thematic objective is to obtain training and quality employment.

The project includes a series of free actions co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) that will be carried out in the autonomous communities of Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha and the Canary Islands and aims to improve professional skills for sustainable business development .

The practices of companies to develop their economic activity have contributed significantly to the degradation of our planet. The inefficient use of natural resources, the generation of waste, production processes or the design of environmentally inefficient products and services are pushing the system to the limit of its capacity with the consequent negative impact on economic development and with clear repercussions for social level.

It is therefore essential to work together with companies so that they can understand not only the environmental context in which they operate and the limitations that will be imposed on them to continue operating and generate growth, but also the importance and urgency of acting.

Large companies and many of the newly created ones have already integrated many of the aspects related to environmental sustainability, however, there is still a long way to go for the renewal of SMEs and their employees, to whom, for the most part, this draft.

Project Objectives

The responsibility of companies is unavoidable as part of the problem, but, above all, also as part of the solution. Companies, and by extension, workers as their essential asset, need a profound transformation towards a model that integrates sustainability as the central axis of its business strategy. Entrepreneurs and workers need to have new tools to materialize this transformation within their organizations that entails, at the same time, a positive impact in a global environment.

The GREEN4mación project aims to address these issues through:

- Training activities on essential topics for companies and key sectors for our economy, aligned with international strategies such as environmental improvement, eco-design, the circular economy, sustainable tourism and energy.

- Advisory activities to consolidate learning from previous training activities and to accompany companies in the economic transformation of their activities towards a more efficient model hand in hand with their workers.
