Spain sets record for the installation of charging points for electric vehicles in 2025

The public access charging network for electric vehicles closed 2025 with 53,072 points, after registering an increase of 37%, 14,347 points more, so 2025 becomes the year that more charging infrastructure has been installed since this ANFAC Electromobility Barometer was carried out.

During the fourth quarter, however, the increase of 965 points meant that the positive trend accumulated during the first three quarters slowed down, according to Anfac in the same document.

It also states that in the fourth quarter there were 16,340 charging points that were out of service, either because they were in poor condition, broken down or that have not yet been able to connect to the electricity distribution network, which represents 24% of the public access charging infrastructure installed in Spain.

In this way, ANFAC points out that if these points were operational, there would be 69,412 publicly accessible charging points in Spain.

Fast charging points, from 150 kW, account for about 10% of the total network, with 5,151 points, which is 58% more than in 2024, with 1,896 new points in the year.

Specifically, points from 250 KW, which allow charging at a higher speed – between 10 and 15 minutes – have increased to 2,160 in the 2025 financial year, rebounding by 723 in the year.
