Today, the construction sector is responsible for a third of all the waste generated in the European Union. This reality highlights the need to prevent construction products from becoming waste, thus favoring sustainable development and contributing to the circular economy.

An economy where end-of-life materials can be reused and recycled rather than simply thrown away. For us, waste is not waste, but a valuable resource that can be turned into something new.

That is why, at ROCKWOOL Peninsular, we have been the pioneers in launching on the Spanish market the first ‘Rockcycle’ service for the collection and reuse of on-site insulation waste, aimed at new deck construction.

The ‘Rockcycle’ service was born with the aim of helping owners and professionals in the sector to be more circular through the collection of waste on site. Its objective is focused on the recovery and recycling of waste from ROCKWOOL products, which allows us to recover pallets and leftover stone wool on site, and take them back to our factories, where we process and recycle them until they become new stone wool. with the quality, durability and original properties, preventing them from ending up in landfills. A simple process that will add value to the sector and, at the same time, will contribute in an agile and simple way to improve any project with a sustainability certificate.

This service marks the path towards a much more responsible type of construction with the environment. In addition, it also contributes to three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: decent work and economic growth (8); build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation (9); and responsible production and consumption (12).

We strongly believe that no recyclable material should be landfilled or incinerated, but rather reused or recycled into new products.
