Nuclear energy: European countries divided on their effectiveness against climate change

Some European Union countries, led by France, pledged to strengthen cooperation around nuclear energy as a strategy against climate change. However, other countries such as Germany and Spain insist that this option is not the most pragmatic in the face of the climate emergency.

Eleven countries of the European Union, led by France, pledged on Tuesday to “strengthen European cooperation” around nuclear energy, which they consider an effective way to fight climate change.
