Methane has 80 times the warming power of_CO2 in the first 20 years after emissions hit the atmosphere, so methane is setting the pace for near-term global warming. Reducing methane emissions by 30% this decade to 2020 levels would avoid at least 0.2°C of global warming by 2050.
