World Energy Analysis 2021

In this study, the International Energy Agency evaluates energy demand and carbon dioxide emissions in 2021. According to the latest data, economic activity and energy use are picking up in countries around the world. It highlights that CO emissions₂ , which fell by 5.8% last year due to the crisis, will rise by 4.8% in 2021 and will touch its peak in 2019 due to the pull of coal in the large emerging countries, such as China and India, much higher than the expansion of renewables. Energy demand will rise by 4.6% as a whole and will come from 70% of developing countries, while in the developed world the recovery of that demand will not be complete, at least in 2021, and will remain 3% per below
