What to do about methane emissions from livestock farming? Spain updates its NECP to address this problem

After the end of the public consultation period, and after receiving the recommendations of the European Commission, the Government is currently preparing the revision of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which must be presented to Brussels by June at the latest.

The EU executive examined the climate plans of EU member states and, in December, published its assessment, in which it asserts that the proposed measures “are not enough” to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the 27 by at least 55% by 2030, but would only lead to a reduction of 51%.
