Most conventional vehicles still emit as much CO2 as they did 12 years ago

The decarbonisation of road transport in the European Union (EU) could be derailed, mainly due to the fact that cars have barely reduced CO2 in a decade, the “unviable” production of biofuels on a large scale and the excessive reliance on Chinese batteries to position the electric vehicle as an alternative to the combustion engine.
