UK to inject more than €1.8 billion into Green Climate Fund

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is calling on his counterparts to work ahead of the upcoming COP28 climate summit in the UAE to reduce carbon emissions and support vulnerable economies.

The British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, announced at the closing of the G20 summit in India on Sunday a contribution of 1,620 million pounds (1,885 million euros) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), in response to a call from his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, to increase support for developing nations.
