U.S. Announces Plan to Reduce_CO2 Emissions

Joe Biden will turn his attention to climate change and focus on power plants. The implementation of the measures will be from 2030.

The government of Joe Biden announced on Thursday a plan to reduce CO₂ emissions from power plants, particularly gas and coal, from 2030, long-awaited measures within the framework of climate commitments in the United States.
This new regulation includes, among others, the obligation for certain coal plants to capture their CO₂ emissions, instead of releasing them into the atmosphere.
If it goes into effect, it will be the first time the Environmental Protection Agency has imposed restrictions on plants. Electricity production accounts for about a quarter of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.
