Transition must double renewables target to meet green H2 exports

Experts estimate that 84,000 new megawatts will be needed by 2030

The Ministry for the Ecological Transition continues to think about the draft of the new Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) that Spain will present before the end of the first semester to the European Commission, according to its own commitment. One of the key points of the plan, on which the eyes of the energy sector are set, is the new objective of renewable energy production for the year 2030 after the unforeseen gas pipeline project to transport green hydrogen between Barcelona and Marseille (the so-called H2MED) launched by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and whose witness was soon picked up by the Spanish president, Pedro Sanchez; the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz and the European Commission itself.
