The legal bill against climate change leaves 9,500 regulations in Spain alone

A study analyzes the level of regulatory activism of our administrations on green matters. The autonomous regions are the most active: they approved 8 out of 10 ecological standards.

The fight against climate change has been the cause of a real legislative earthquake in Spain. This is reflected in the numbers: since 2008, Spanish administrations have given the green light to at least 9,489 regulations on ecological issues. By theme, 3,482 regulations (with and without the force of law) have been enacted on renewable energies, 5,116 related to the measurement of energy efficiency, 783 on sustainable transport and 108 on pollution management. To get an idea in comparative terms, only the provisions approved by the autonomies outnumber all the environmental regulations that have seen the light of day in France in the same period.
