The EU raises the 2030 renewable energy consumption target to 42.5%

The Twenty-seven endorsed on Monday the ambition to increase the share of renewable energies in the European Union’s total energy consumption from 32% to 42.5% by 2030, with an additional indicative complement of 2.5% that will allow it to reach 45%, the figure defended by countries such as Spain.
