Red Eléctrica’s activity is 100% sustainable, according to the European Union Taxonomy

TSO activity combats global warming without significant harm

Redeia has published its 2022 Sustainability Report in which it accounts for its commitment to the sustainable, fair and inclusive development of the territories in which it operates.
The publication highlights that the activity of its main subsidiary, Red Eléctrica, in the transmission of energy, the operation of the electricity system and the management of national infrastructures is 100% environmentally sustainable as it contributes substantially to both the mitigation of climate change and its adaptation. Thus, 79.2% of Redeia’s net turnover is eligible and aligned with the Taxonomy Regulation of the European Union.

The document reflects that the activity of the TSO, in addition to combating global warming, does not produce significant damage to the rest of the environmental objectives defined in the regulation and is carried out in compliance with social guarantees, paying special attention to vulnerable groups and respecting human rights.
