EC asks Spain to detail “how and when” it intends to eliminate fossil fuel subsidies

The European Commission published the assessment of the draft national energy and climate plans. The water deficit and emissions from agriculture, the other concerns of Brussels.

The European Commission (EC) published its assessment of EU Member States’ draft National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) and issued recommendations to increase ambitions in line with the 2030 targets.

The final Plans must be submitted by June 30, 2024. For the EC, the measures proposed in all the drafts are “insufficient” for the 55% reduction in emissions in the next seven years.
