Europe to invest more than €65 million in innovative small-scale cleantech projects

In Spain, it has been awarded to a project in the refinery sector and another in the cement and lime sector.

The Commission has selected 17 innovative small-scale cleantech projects to receive more than €65 million in project support from the EU Innovation Fund. These funds will help European companies, including some small ones, to introduce cutting-edge technologies to the market in energy-intensive industries, renewable energy and energy storage. The selected projects cover a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on the manufacture of components for renewable energies and glass, ceramics and building materials. There are also projects in the area of energy storage, solar energy, renewable energy, iron and steel, refineries, chemicals, cement and lime, and hydrogen.
