The global average income will fall by 19% over the next 25 years due to climate change and Spain will be the European country that suffers the most from its economic impact, with a loss of almost 18% in 2050, an amount that would exceed the costs of reducing global emissions. This is determined by the Potsdam Climate Impact Research Institute (PIK) in its latest study published in the journal Nature, which points out that these estimated losses are already six times higher than the mitigation costs needed to limit global warming to two degrees. They would also affect most countries, especially in South Asia and Africa.
