Saudi Arabia continues to consider joining BRICS

Saudi Arabia is still considering an invitation to become a member of the BRICS bloc after the grouping asked it to do so last year, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Thursday.

The group had in August invited Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iran, Argentina and Ethiopia to join as of Jan. 1, although Argentina said in November it would not accept the invitation.
