Ribera approves the reform of the regulated electricity tariff, but it will not be applied until 2024

The Ministry for the Ecological Transition has sent urgently to the Council of State its proposal for a royal decree establishing the new methodology for calculating the regulated electricity tariff to which small consumers with a contracted power of less than 10 kW are entitled and to which cinco Días has had access. The objective of the standard, whose first proposal was launched by the ministry led by Teresa Ribera at the end of last year for public consultation, is to decouple the so-called Small Consumer Sale Price (PVPC) from the wholesale electricity market (pool), which, having been the most affected by the escalation of energy prices, has turned domestic workers with this rate into “the main victims of the upward spiral”, The Royal Decree states.
