The big industry demands that the Government triple the aid to lower its electricity bill by 850 million

Last year, the government injected €244 million into industrial groups to offset part of their costs, and now the employers’ association of large electricity consumers is putting pressure on them to boost the budget

The big industry is putting pressure on the government to increase direct aid that serves to reduce the impact that electricity costs have on their accounts and on their competitiveness against their European rivals. The large industrial groups benefit every year from a system of compensation for part of the costs of indirect CO₂ emissions, but the companies complain that the amounts allocated in recent years have been insufficient and are now demanding more than three times the aid they will receive this year.
