India activates reactor that promises almost unlimited nuclear power

The country presided over by Narendra Mori has successfully turned on an advanced nuclear reactor that can generate its own fuel and could give it cleaner and virtually unlimited energy in the future.

It has taken more than two decades of work, but India has just passed one of the most important phases in terms of thinking about obtaining nuclear energy so that the energy produced exceeds what it requires for its operation: we are talking about criticality. This means that it can already maintain a stable nuclear reaction on its own, which is the key step before starting to generate electricity. It is not just any advance, but it means that the country presided over by Narendra Modi will join the select and small group of countries that have managed to operate fast breeder reactors. In this way, India follows in the footsteps of countries such as China in terms of nuclear energy.
