Finally, the UK will introduce the Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in 2027

In a recent confirmation by the UK Treasury on Monday, December 18, a significant change to the timing of the country’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) was announced. Initially scheduled to enter a reporting phase in 2024, with a launch in 2026, it has been confirmed that the CBAM will finally be implemented in 2027, a year later than originally planned and likely a year later than the European Union.
