EU to seek deal to phase out fossil fuels at next COP28

The member countries intend to promote a global pact that gradually eliminates the most polluting fuels.

The European Union wants the United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28) to be held at the end of the year in Dubai to be historic. And for this they are preparing a global agreement that they will promote at the November meeting.

With it, the 27 intend to gradually eliminate fossil fuels from the face of the Earth. “The transition to a carbon-neutral economy requires that we stop using this type of fuel throughout the planet and reduce our dependence in the short term,” says Reuters, which has had access to the draft agreement.
