Climate fund for vulnerable countries ready to receive contributions

The loss and damage fund to help the most vulnerable countries cope with the impacts of climate change is now ready to receive contributions and finance projects in 2025.
This mechanism was adopted last year during the 28th Climate Summit – known as COP28 – in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and will be managed by the World Bank provisionally for four years.

The fund is now open to accepting contributions following the signing of key documents on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the occasion of COP29.
