Air conditioners in Europe will emit 10 million tons of_CO2 more by 2050

Air conditioning is a double-edged sword. In countries like Spain, these refrigeration devices are the most used resource to mitigate high temperatures, especially on days of heat wave, increasingly frequent. These devices make it possible to avoid many deaths associated with high temperatures, but, in the long term, an indiscriminate use of this technology will go against efforts aimed at curbing global warming. In Europe alone, its use will cause an increase in emissions by 10 million tons of CO₂ until 2050.
