The EU representative chamber will debate in October the reference values (Benchmark) of the free CO₂ emission rights regime. The European Commission is pushing for a cut in allocations with the aim of accelerating decarbonisation, but this implies new economic costs for the sector, which warns of a loss of competitiveness.
