The world has installed more renewable energy in 2023 than ever before in a year

Unprecedented increase in renewable power. This is the headline chosen by the International Renewable Energy Agency to present its latest annual report, Renewable Energy Statistics 2024, which collects and reviews all the key figures of the sector on a global scale corresponding to the year 2023. According to this document, which is the first annual reference in the matter, the renewable power installed in 2023 has been 14% higher than that connected in 2022, which was already a top year. Despite this, the Agency warns: if the world wants to meet the energy-climate commitments agreed at the Dubai Climate Summit, it will have to raise that cruising speed to “at least” 16.4%.
