The circular economy goes beyond waste management: it’s about keeping the value of materials high and making them last longer in their intended use. It also seeks to design material that is not unnecessary. This requires new business models and a transition from ownership models to service-based solutions, which is why a full suite of new circularity policies has been introduced at EU level.
