In 2023, renewable energy globally was on the road to recovery, in the face of persistent challenges and disparities between technologies. The energy crisis of the previous year continued to subside, while there was a notable boom in solar PV and an increase in energy investments. Capacity increased by approximately 36% in 2023 to reach around 473 gigawatts (GW).
