The Government launches aid of 280 million for innovative energy storage projects

The subsidies are aimed at making storage an essential pillar of the ecological transition

The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco) has launched 280 million euros in aid for innovative energy storage projects that contribute to improving the stability of the electricity system and security of supply.

Specifically, these aids, whose calls will be managed by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), will be granted on a competitive basis through two differentiated lines: one for independent storage (‘stand-alone’) and thermal -endowed with 150 and 30 million, respectively- and another, with the remaining 100 million, to reversible pumping projects in hydroelectric power plants.
