The world prepares for COP28 climate: these are the challenges

Tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency are among the goals

Countries are already preparing for this year’s climate summit, COP28, which will take place in Dubai from November 30 to December 12 and whose basic objectives will be to ensure financing for poor countries to cope with climate change and strengthen mechanisms to comply with the emission limits set in the Paris Agreement of 2015. Overall, there is a sense that not enough is being done and there are doubts that it will be possible to get in time to curb emissions to internationally agreed ceilings.
