Gas futures leave the Iberian exception on ‘stand by’: it will not be applied throughout the year

Industry experts point out that, although the market is volatile, these types of measures cannot be unlimited

The Iberian exception, more colloquially known as the gas cap, will be in force in Spain until December 31, after the approval of Brussels of the extension requested by the Government. However, in light of the fall in gas prices, this mechanism has not determined the prices of the pool for months, and as the futures indicate, it will not do so until the end of the year.
