Ribera affirms that the reduction of emissions is “stagnant or continues to grow”

The third vice-president and minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, has pointed out that the reduction of emissions is stagnant and continues to grow and much remains to be done to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement, because the impacts of climate change “are real”. This has been pointed out by the minister in her Twitter account, while from the Spanish presidency of the EU it was announced that the talks in the Millennium Dome, where the ministers of Environment and Energy are located, continues this Tuesday, so the planned family photo will not be made. Ribera, who appeared this morning with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, at the Museo Palacio Herreriano, added that it is “very likely” that the first assessment of the Paris Agreement “is that we are still far from fulfilling and responding to the commitments of the document and that, therefore, “we must ensure, think, propose how to move forward guaranteeing, ensuring its viability.”
