The set of physical indicators presented in the report connects the changing composition of the atmosphere with energy changes in the climate system and the response of land, ocean and ice. The indicators are based on a wide range of datasets comprising data from multiple observing systems, and make numerous references to Working Group I’s contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report and the IPCC Ocean Report.
