Coal-fired power plants in Germany and Poland, the largest emitters of_CO2 in the EU

The top 10 emitters of the 2022 ETS emitted 175 Mt of CO₂ into the atmosphere, more CO₂ than the energy sectors of Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Coal-fired power plants in Germany and Poland were the European Union’s biggest emitters of CO₂ last year, according to the latest report published by Ember, called “Recidivists: Coal-fired power plants top the list of EU emitters.”
