We must take ambitious climate action on a global scale and the land sector is crucial in this process, accounting for around 22% of net anthropogenic GHG emissions in tonnes of_CO2 equivalent. In terms of mitigation, the land-based sector could contribute up to 37% of the emission reductions and removals needed until 2030 and 20% until 2050.
