As markets prepare for a winter of uncertainty, security of energy supply has become a priority. A complete closure of Russian pipeline flows to the European Union cannot be ruled out. The sharp drop in Russian gas flows to Europe and a tight energy market pushed European gas prices, and indirectly Asian LNG spot prices, to record levels in the third quarter of 2022.
