Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement

The synthesis report published by UN Climate Change was requested by the Parties to the Paris Agreement to assess progress on climate action ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) to be held in November in Glasgow. The report includes information from the 191 Parties to the Paris Agreement based on their latest available NDCs in the provisional register of national contributions as of July 30, 2021, including information from 86 updated or new NDCs submitted by 113 Parties. New or updated NDCs cover approximately 59% of Paris Agreement Parties and account for around 49% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Within the group of 113 Parties, 70 countries indicated carbon neutrality targets by mid-century.
