Textiles and the Environment: the role of design in the circular economy.

Textiles have the fourth highest negative life-cycle impact on the environment, so a shift to a circular textile production and consumption system could reduce those impacts. An important measure is the circular design of textiles to improve product durability, repairability and recyclability and ensure the incorporation of secondary raw materials in new products.
