Report on the state of the climate in 2020 in Spain

The report of the State Meteorological Agency has three chapters: the first describes the weather in the world and Europe; the second, the state of the climate in Spain; the third focuses on atmospheric patterns that gave rise to severe weather events and climatic anomalies. It highlights that the year 2020 was the warmest in Spain and Europe since there are records, and on a global scale it was at the same level as 2016, the warmest year to date. The marine waters surrounding Spain recorded higher than normal temperatures in 2020. As for rainfall, although in 2020 they were slightly below the average value in Spain, it can be considered a normal year, as well as in terms of hours of sunshine.
