Secondary raw material (SRM) markets are crucial for a circular economy, as they allow recyclable materials to re-enter the production value chain, reducing resource dependency. This role is recognised in the 2020 EU Circular Economy Action Plan. However, if policy is going to help further develop such markets, we need to better understand secondary commodity markets.
