The summer of 2023 was the hottest on record and data for April and May 2024 also show that we could break records this year. In recent decades, Europe has suffered frequent and severe weather events, such as droughts, forest fires, heatwaves, storms and torrential rains. Climate change will make these phenomena even more intense and frequent.
