Global Situation Report 2020 for Buildings and Construction

According to the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) report, emissions from the operation of buildings in the world reached their highest level in 2019. While global building energy consumption remained stable from the previous year, emissions increased to 9.95 _GtCO2 in 2019, accounting for 38% of global energy-related CO2 _emissions . The report highlights the desirability of using the post-COVID-19 stimulus packages as an opportunity for governments and companies to prioritize low-carbon buildings and adopt measures such as investing in energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
