Vehicle emissions fall in Europe

The European Environment Agency has released the data for 2020 and represent a decrease of 12% compared to the previous year.

The European Environment Agency has released carbon dioxide (_CO2) emissions in 2020. The figures have indicated that in 2020 the emissions of new registered vehicles fell by 12% compared to 2019. In this way, this decrease represents the largest annual decrease in a decade, since the_CO2 regulations began to be applied.

Precisely, this decrease coincides with the entry into force in January 2020 of the new European regulations that limited carbon dioxide (CO) emissions.₂) for light-duty vehicles and requiring manufacturers to exceed 95 grams of CO on average their cars sold after that date₂ per kilometre travelled.

EUROPE IS MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

For the European Environment Agency, the data obtained in 2020 show that the objectives in terms of reducing emissions are advancing and the continent is on the right track.

In this sense, there is no doubt that the new technologies cleaner that the automotive is offering as hybrid and electric vehicles are helping these objectives to thrive. The momentum and effort being made by all the actors that make up mobility is beginning to bear fruit.
