The Met Office experts’ worrying forecast of carbon dioxide emissions in 2024

The forecast generated by the Met Office indicates that in 2024 the concentration of CO₂ will continue to rise. This year, the effect of El Niño will make an additional contribution as natural CO₂ sinks will not be able to efficiently capture what is emitted.

The Met Office, the United Kingdom’s meteorological service, estimates the expected behavior of carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations in the atmosphere each year. Their forecasts in previous years have always been very close to what is finally measured, so they are highly taken into account by the global meteorological community.
