The Mediterranean region: red dot of warming

The voice of the Mediterranean was heard for the first time officially at COP-27, waters that warm 20% faster than the average of the planet

We are used to climate change being addressed from a global or European perspective, but the truth is that the Mediterranean is a hot spot. Its temperature increases 20% faster than the world average and the Mediterranean region is the second fastest warming area on the planet. This is separated from the study of Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), which brings together 15 Mediterranean countries in North Africa, the Middle East and Southeastern Europe, including Spain.
