The coming nuclear fusion

Last December, the US Department of Energy announced at a press conference that the team at the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory had obtained more energy by nuclear fusion than was used to activate it. This is an important scientific milestone achieved through the route known as inertial confinement fusion.
