Nuclear power company demands tax cuts from the government after the ‘green’ endorsement from Brussels

The sector is clinging to security of supply as its main asset so that the future government reconsiders the closure schedule already agreed until 2035 and after the Commission has opened the door to subsidies.

Nuclear power plants are not throwing in the towel and still have hope (even if it is minimal) that the political will will change and the agreed closure schedule between 2027 and 2035 will be reconsidered. The sector is clinging to security of supply so that the future government is open to negotiating to extend the life of the seven nuclear reactors that are currently operating in Spain and that generate around 20% of the electricity consumed in the country.
