EU to mandate new buildings to be zero-emission from 2030

The agreement reached by the 27, the European Parliament and the European Commission is part of the Green Deal and will force buildings to reduce energy consumption by 16% in seven years and fall to 20-22% by 2035

First it was industries, then cars, and now buildings. The EU has reached an agreement to renew the directive on the energy performance of buildings and has established new criteria: from 2030, new buildings will have to be zero-emission and all buildings must achieve this by 2050. It is one of the measures that is part of the European Green Deal, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
