The carbon business: Germany earned more than €13 billion in 2022 from the sale of_CO2 emission rights

European emissions trading in the energy and industrial sectors generated $6.8 billion, with $6.4 billion coming from the national transport and heating fuels system.

The European Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the national carbon price provided Germany with a record €13.2 billion for the sale of carbon dioxide pollution rights in 2022, the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) said.
